Pokerstars PA: 1st AnniversaryPokerStars is marking its first year in Pennsylvania via a major tournament series that is set to give away at least $1 million! The online poker site will run the “PokerStars 1st Anniversary Series” as a way of thanking players for their massive support since the site launched in the Keystone State back in November 4, 2019.

PokerStars PA is the first and currently the only regulated online poker site in Pennsylvania. Since debuting in the Keystone State, the site has hosted multiple tournaments, awarding millions in prizes and attracting huge turnouts.

Figures reached peak levels during the coronavirus lockdowns which began in mid-March, and even when restrictions have now been eased, online traffic at the site continues to be strong, amid speculations the operator will see an end to its PA monopoly very soon with the entrance of new major players.

PokerStars 1st Anniversary Series – Key Details

The upcoming series kicks off on November 8 and will run through to November 15, featuring a total of 35 events, with a combined guaranteed prize pool of $1 million. The main highlight of the festival is the $100 buy-in Main Event, with $200,000 in guarantees up for grabs.

Other key events on the schedule include the $100 buy-in, $100K GTD Sunday Special which takes place on November 8, as well as a “mini” version of the Main Event on November 15, which offers $25,000 in guarantees for just a $20 entry fee. Another event to watch out for is a $50 phased tournament that will give away $50,000 in prize money.

PA Market Continues To Grow

Pennsylvania’s online poker market has been showing great potential since it opened last year. In late April, the state generated a record $5.25 million in online poker revenue, surpassing that of New Jersey. With less than a year in operation, the Keystone State recorded the largest revenue for a single US regulated market, a record previously held by New Jersey.

Both 888poker and WSOP.com already received the green light from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board to operate in the state. Both brands are well-known for their strong tournament offerings, which continue to attract a solid pool of players. WSOP.com plays host to major online festivals, including the historic WSOP Online Bracelet Series back in the summer. 888poker is WSOP.com’s online partner and has remained competitive over the years, with its Sunday tournaments proving popular to poker fans and players worldwide.

With the entry of new online poker sites, the PA market is expected to continue to flourish, as players get more choices of enjoying their favorite games.
