Poker Yaar Stirs Competition In India With Tickets To A MPN Event

The poker boom in India has long been anticipated by the poker-playing community and international poker operators. Poker Yaar is poised to take advantage of India’s growing poker market by launching a special competition for Indian poker players.

With the Indian market growing rapidly, competition amongst poker operators is now fierce. Poker Yaar launched an interesting marketing campaign that will get the market talking. The poker operator announced that it will send Indian poker players to the MPN International Poker Tournament that takes place in Bulgaria on July. The tournament is sponsored by the Microgaming Poker Network

The MPN Poker Tournament will be held at the Platinum Casino in Sunny Beach, Bulgaria for the first time and will run from July 5 to 8, where players will be able to play for a share of the equivalent of Rs 1.2 crore guaranteed prize pool.

This is the first time Poker Yaar will be hosting satellites to send a player to the MPN International Poker Tournament. Microgaming and Poker Yaar were excited to enter into a partnership and boost the Indian poker market.

In a statement, Richard Cunningham, events manager of Microgaming’s International Poker Tournament, said

We are really looking forward to welcoming our Indian online poker players to the live felt at the MPN Poker Tour…I’m sure they will enjoy being part of the amazing vibe, the great poker, our player party, and VIP trip we have planned

Poker Yaar will be hosting satellites to the tournament on its website and the main satellite will be held on April 29 which will have a buy-in of Rs 6,000. The winner of the satellite will get an all-inclusive VIP trip to the MPN tournament, which includes travel expenses to and from Sunny Beach, 4 nights accommodation, full-board meals, entrance to the welcome player party, a one-day VIP tour around Bulgaria, and a INR 45,000 seat to the MPN Main Event.

India continues to be one of the most exciting markets for the poker industry since it is home to more than $1.3 billion people. A number of poker leagues have launched in the last couple of years and the response has been fantastic so far. PokerStars, the biggest online poker website in the world is also poised to enter the market this month.
