Kristen Bicknell Maintains Top Position in GPI POY 2019 Rankings

Kristen BicknellKristen Bicknell (pictured) remains at the top of the Global Poker Index (GPI) Player of the Year (POY) race, dominating both the Ladies 2019 POY and Overall Ladies GPI rankings in the latest weekly report released by the GPI on November 1.

Bicknell who won last year is on a roll this year, having scored a total of 29 tournament cashes so far. She has also taken part in high roller events more than ever, leading to a career-defining year. She is set to extend her lead even further as she receives more GPI points from her final table finish in the CA$3,300 WPT Montreal Main Event over the weekend.

The Canadian poker pro is expected to remain active on the live felt with only two months left to rack up points for the 2019 POY race.

Following Bicknell in second place is Maria Ho, who also managed to secure 17 cashes, including a victory in the LAPC $25K High Roller back in March, as well as a third place finish in the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown. She also finished fifth in a $5,000 No Limit Hold’em event during this summer’s WSOP. She followed it up with another WPT final table finish at The Gardens. Like Bicknell, Ho is also enjoying a record year, collecting $951, 795 in total winnings thus far.

Latest GPI Standings

Among other players doing great in the Ladies GPI Rankings are American poker pros Jessica Dawley and Loni Harwood, who currently occupy the third and fourth spots respectively. Dawley captured her biggest cash to date back in August after winning a side event in the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open (SHRPO) for a cool $204,610.

Harwood meanwhile has had deep runs this year, including finishing fourth in the $5,000 Bay 101 Shooting Star Main Event in which she earned $142,440. The Florida-based poker pro scored 17 cashes so far in 2019.

Malaysian pro Natalie Teh, China’s poker pride Li Yan, Argentina native Maria Lampropulos, Taiwanese player Kitty Kuo, American poker pro Lauren Roberts, and 888poker ambassador Ana Marquez round out the Top 10 list.

The Ladies 2019 POY Rankings reflect similar names, with Bicknell holding the No.1 spot, Ho coming in at No 2 and Dawley at No. 3. Harwood is currently at No. 4 and Yan is at No. 5. To find out more information and see the full list of rankings, check out the official GPI site.
