Summary:

  • The 2026 WSOP runs May 26 to July 15 with 100 bracelet events, including new and returning mixed-game formats.
  • The event will debut free daily livestreams, giving broader access to tournaments than in previous years.
  • Players praised stronger mid-stakes offerings and expect huge fields, possibly topping 10,000 in the Main Event.

Poker players finally got the news they had been waiting for. The full schedule for the 2026 World Series of Poker was released at the start of the week, and it quickly became the biggest topic of conversation across the poker world.

Mike Holtz: “It’s a Game Changer”

This year’s series will run from May 26 through July 15 and includes 100 live bracelet events. The lineup covers everything from smaller buy-in tournaments like the new $550 Mini Mystery Millions to the prestigious $10,000 Main Event

That headline tournament will once again use the delayed final table format that older fans will recognize.

One of the biggest changes is something many players have wanted for years. The WSOP will offer free daily livestream coverage, opening the door for fans to follow the action without paying.

Mike Holtz said

It’s a game changer. Having a thing every day where you can see, for free, what’s going on, daily updates, that’s huge. You’re going to get more people going, shit, I’ve got to get out there.

Ben Ludlow agreed, saying,

This is just going to allow more people to see things, and more people to kind of follow along with players.

Appealing Mid-Stakes Schedule

Another area getting attention is the mid-stakes schedule. Several events in the $2,000 to $5,000 range are included, which many players see as the sweet spot between affordability and serious competition.

David “ODB” Baker wrote

I like the 2k-5k NL price points they have put in place. I think most of us would like more but I do like that there are several and most are 1 reentry, which most of us feel is a nice compromise to freezeout vs unlimited.

Mixed game players also have plenty to be excited about. Events like the $3,000 T.O.R.S.E. and Nine Game Mix are back, along with several Pot-Limit Omaha tournaments.

Jeff Platt, who recently joined the WSOP team, said fans can expect a much better viewing experience this summer.

I think we’re in the midst of a new era that will really pop when it comes to the livestreams/broadcasts planned for the summer. Showcasing more tournaments, more players, more storylines.

There is also a growing belief that attendance could reach historic levels. The Main Event has come close to 10,000 players in recent years, and some expect that number to climb even higher in 2026.
