GGMasters Bounty Hunters Series Poised To Smash $40M Guarantee

GGPoker Bounty Hunters SeriesThe Bounty Hunters Series kicked off at GGPoker on Oct 11. The brand-new festival features at least $40 million in guarantees and will run through till October 25. The series is expected to conclude with on a very successful note as it was able to smash guarantees across all events that have played out so far.

During the first week, the festival drew a massive field of 225,919 entries generating a whopping $22,989,010 in combined prize pool, surpassing the $20,078,500 in guarantees offered on the events.

A total of 69,662 players have also benefited from GGPoker’s Early Bird Bubble Protection. The promo entitles players to a refund of their buy-in if they’re able to register before a certain event begins and they get eliminated on or near the bubble, according to the number of participants in that event.

What makes the Bounty Hunters Series more interesting is the low rake being collected, which sits at only five per cent.

Almost $2 Million Awarded in GGMasters Events

Among the key events on the schedule are multiple GGMasters bounty edition tournaments, each guaranteeing at least $500,000. Originally, the GGMasters event is played in freezeout format, every Sunday, with a buy-in of $150.

Now, a smaller buy-in version of the event runs daily at GGPoker, featuring an entry fee of only $25, with $50,000 guaranteed. A GGMasters high roller edition has also been added, which offers a massive $1 million in prize money for a buy-in of $1,050.

So far, the bounty editions of the GGMasters which form part of the Bounty Hunters Series have awarded nearly $2 million in prizes to the winners.

Points earned in the GGMasters bounty edition will also count towards the overall GGMasters Player of the Year race, which will award a $500,000 GGPoker sponsorship package to the winner.

Eight GGMasters bounty events have played out thus far, producing $1,962,730 in total prize pool, up on the $1,800,000 initial guarantee.

Bounty Hunter Series Leaderboard

The race to the top has become more intense with just a few days left before the festival comes to a close. At the moment, Canada’s Sebastian Sikorski is leading the pack with 7,278.56 points. He grabbed the lead from Moroccan poker pro Idris Ambraisse who currently has 7,116.57 points. China’s Wei Zhao comes in third with 5,865.16 points, followed by German poker pro Rainer Kempe (5,038.86), and Brazil’s “li!li!li!” (4,803.95) in 4th and 5th place respectively.
