World Poker TourThe World Poker Tour (WPT) had great success with the Lucky Hearts Poker Open in Hollywood Florida in January.

The WPT is continuing to make a comeback this year by hosting to more major events over the next couple of weeks. This time around, the WPT travels to the Asian continent, offering exciting action and prizes!

WPT Russia

The WPT will return to Russia for a live event in partnership with partypoker LIVE. It will run from February 19 to 28, with Casino Sochi playing host to the action.

WPT Russia features a RUB245,000 (approx. $3337) Main Event that has four starting flights. The first three Day 1s are “normal” flights kicking off on February 23, while the fourth one will be played in “turbo” format and will serve as a last chance for players to take part in the event. The surviving players will battle it out in a livestreamed final action on February 28, during which a winner will be crowned.

The upcoming event marks the return of the WPT to Russia after holding its last live event there prior to the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. WPT Russia is one of the events that the company’s CEO Adam Pliska is looking forward to. He said the team is excited to once again provide the best poker experience and off-the-felt activities for the Russians.

The WPT, partypoker LIVE, and Casino Sochi are also working together to ensure the safety of players and staff during the tournament. Everyone entering the venue will be required to wear a face mask and will undergo temperature checks at the entrance. Each table will be limited to a maximum of eight players only, and chips, cards, and tables will also be cleaned regularly.

WPT Online Spring Festival

Meanwhile, the WPT Spring Festival is well underway for poker players in the Asian region. The festival is taking place exclusively online on the Poker King app. It kicked off on February 11 and is set to conclude on February 22. The main highlight of the series is the WPT Main Event with ¥10 million (approx. $1.5 million) in guaranteed prize money up for grabs.

Poker King is the leading mobile poker app in Asia, represented by two of the best poker players in the world, Phil Ivey and Tom Dwan. The pair will participate in the WPT Main Event, alongside WPT champion Nick Petrangelo and NBA star Allen Iverson.
