888poker’s 2018 XL Blizzard Main Event Will Have $1m Guarantee

888Ppoker had great success with its XL Eclipse and XL Inferno tournaments this year. The company recently announced that the launch of XL Blizzard, which will bring together the best events and guarantees in a leaner, 11-day online poker tournament festival in 2018.

XL Blizzard will run from January 18 to January 28, 2018 and have 34 events featuring different games and formats. This online tournament will take place at the 888poker website under the XL Blizzard banner.

Some of the biggest and most-anticipated events during the festival will be the $80,000 Opening event, $50,000 Crazy 8, $250,000 High Roller and the Main Event with a $1 million guarantee.

The highlight of the XL Blizzard online poker festival will be the Main Event which will be played on the last day of the festival. Daily satellites to the Main Event will run throughout the festival, plus two mega-satellites on the 21st and 28th of Dec which have a $160 and $215 buy-in.


Apart from the low- and high-stakes scheduled events, Blizzard XL is running three exciting promotions where players can secure even more prizes. First is the $1 Million Winners promotion where streak winners will be rewarded. A player who can win in at least five events will be awarded an extra $1 million. Win four events and get and additional $100,000. Those who win at least three events receive $10,000, and those who win two events will get a bonus of $1,000.

Those who don’t place won’t walk away defeated. Players who make three or more final tables will receive a $600 tournament ticket, while playing in eight or more final tables will earn you a $215 tournament ticket.

Champion of Champions will also return during the Blizzard XL, where the top 50 players on the leaderboard will go head-to-head for a chance to win WSOP packages and tournament tickets. Everyone who gets to join the Champion of Champions will walk away with a prize. The last 11 to 50 places will get a $55 tournament ticket while those who place 6th to 10th will get a $600 tournament ticket. The two people to place 4th and 5th will get a $1,050 tournament ticket. The top three winners will receive World Series of Poker (WSOP) Vegas packages that include travel expenses, accommodation at the Vdara hotel, daily transportation and a special 888live poker kit.
