PokerStars’ first-ever live tournament series on American soil in six years, the Summer Series, is just around the corner, with the festival kicking off on August 24 and running through September 10 at Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia.
The operator is looking to accommodate as many players as possible for the historic event by hosting plenty of satellites, some of which are currently running on its Ontario platform.
Summer Series Main Event Packages Up for Grabs
The Summer Series features three Main Events running each weekend throughout the series. The first one, which has a $550 buy-in and a $200,000 guarantee, takes place from August 24-27. The second Main Event (August 31-September 4) costs $1,100 to enter and comes with $300,000 in guarantees.
The third Main Event, the biggest of the three, has a buy-in of $2,200 and features $500,000 in guaranteed prize money. Canadian poker players can win their way into this tournament via satellites on PokerStars Ontario.
Direct satellites with a $50 buy-in run every Sunday leading up to the huge event. There are lower-priced satellites available as well, which players can enter for as little as $2. These qualifiers award seats to the $50 direct satellites.
Successful qualifiers walk away with a Summer Series Main Event package worth $5,300. This covers the $2,200 buy-in as well as travel and accommodation expenses. PokerStars could award more prizes, including cash if more players take part in the satellites.
Ontarians still have two Sundays to take a shot, with the next direct satellites scheduled for August 27 and September 3.
PokerStars is also hosting Summer Series satellites for its players in the US, with qualifiers running on the shared New Jersey/Michigan network and also on the segregated Pennsylvania client.
PokerStars Returns to US Live Poker Scene
The upcoming Summer Series in Philadelphia marks the first time in six years that PokerStars is hosting a live event in the US. All
in all, there’s $1 million in guaranteed prize money to be won at the festival. The schedule also includes turbo satellites to the three Main Events, with buy-ins of $80, $125, and $300.
Apart from that, players may also win seats to selected US COOP events via live satellites taking place at the Summer Series.
