888poker Sponsored WSOPC Heads To Argentina For the First Time

The 2017- 2018 World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) will stop in Argentina for the first time in WSOP history. The company recently announced that the WSOPC stop will be hosted by Casino Iguazú between Aug 2 and 8. One of the most well-known casinos in the region, Casino Iguazú is located very close to the border of Brazil and the famous Iguazú Falls.

The full tournament schedule is yet to be released, but there will be six championship ring events including one Crazy Eights Side Event and the Main Event. 888poker is acting as the official sponsor of the WSOPC for the second year in a row.

The company said that it had renewed the contract as a part of its strategy to further expand 888poker’s reach in the South American market.

WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart also expressed his excitement at WSOPC reaching new shores as apart of its global expansion program. The marketing director of Casino Iguazu Ferando Bianchi stated that the casino was a spectacular setting for the first-ever WSOPC event to be held in Argentina. The luxurious casino has around 40 table games covering roulette, baccarat, craps and poker. It also features 220 slots machines along with video games among other facilities.

Additional WSOPC stops in South America are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. The WSOPC had a stop at Brazil during last year’s edition. Players will be able to qualify for the 2017 WSOPC events through numerous satellites being held on 888poker.com starting from just 1 cent.

Qualifiers with buy-in’s starting at $160 will give players the chance to win an exciting package worth $2,500 which includes the $1,000 buy-in for the Main Event, hotel accommodation for 3 days plus $1,000 for travel related expenses. Yet another qualifier with a buy-in starting at $55 will provide players with an opportunity to get a seat at the $1,000 Main Event.
