When you think of the top poker markets in the world, you don’t really think of the Philippines and Russia. However, both these markets are important for PokerStars and the poker operator is continuing to make moves to strengthen its presence in these two countries.

PokerStars decided to move out of the City of Dreams casino and form a new partnership with Okada Manila – the latest casino to open out in the Philippines. Okada Manila will now play host to the popular “PokerStars LIVE Manila tour” and will attract poker players from all over the Philippines as well as neighbouring Asian countries.

Manila Megastack 10 will have a total of 26 events and is scheduled to take place from December 7 to 16. The tournament will have a combined prize pool of $320 million and the highlight of the festival will be the Main Event which has a buy-in of $565 and a guaranteed prize pool of $188,500.

PokerStars last stop in the Philippines was back in October when Super Series 9 took place. The poker operator will continue to host exciting events in Manila in 2019 as it looks to establish itself as the premier poker operator in the country.

EPT Sochi To Take Place In March 2019

PokerStars has been very impressed with the results of its poker tournaments in Sochi, Russia. Sochi will play host to the very first stop of the European Poker Tour (EPT) in 2019. The EPT will come to Sochi in March 2019 and will stop over as usual at the Sochi Resort and Casino. There are a total of 20 events scheduled during this stop and buy-ins will start from RUB 6,600 and go all the way up to RUB 375,000. PokerStars is yet to release a full schedule of events for EPT Sochi as there are still a few details to be finalized.

What we can predict is that the Main Event is going to be the start attraction of EPT Sochi. The 2017 edition saw as many as 861 player registrations which resulted in a $23 million guaranteed prize pool. The winner Arsenii Karmatckii walked away with a cool $478,451.

Poker players who are interested in visiting Sochi and taking part in the poker festival can take advantage of a special EPT Sochi package that is valued at $4,400. All you have to do is create a Stars Account between Nov 16 to Mar 17 and you become eligible to win free tickets to play Spin and Go games which puts you in the running for the EPT Sochi package.
