Martin Jacobson888poker, the second biggest online poker website in the world recently announced that it has signed Swedish poker pro Martin Jacobson as its latest brand ambassador. Jacobson’s has won more than $16.5 million in career prize money and is ranked in first place according to the Hendon Mob on Sweden’s All Time Money List.

Jacobson is best known for winning the 2014 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event which saw him take home $10,000 in prize money. The poker pro is also ranked 20th on the All Time Money list and now joins 888poker with a focus of bridging the gap between the players and 888poker.

It looks like 888poker is taking a leaf out of partypoker’s business strategy. Partypoker has seen a massive resurgence in 2017 as the online poker operator has focused its efforts on getting player feedback, analysing the feedback and then making changes that will make its poker offerings more player friendly.

Patrik Antonius, who serves as a brand ambassador for partypoker has played a key role in bridging the gap between partypoker and its players. Antonius has turned out to be a sounding board for the players who voice their concerns and complaints to Antonius who then filters the feedback and works with partypoker management to make their products and services more player friendly.

888poker has brought on Martin Jacobson to play a similar role as the online poker operator wants to become more player friendly in 2018. 888poker announced the partnership with Jacobson by running a special $5,000 Martin Jacobson Welcome Tournament on Dec 27 to let the global poker community know that Jacobson was on board the 888poker team and that he would play a significant role in helping 888poker become more player friendly.

PokerStars continues to be the number one online poker operator in the world and dominate the global poker market. Partypoker has made significant strides this year to become more competitive and player friendly. 888poker has adopted a more quiet approach this year but has continued to build an impressive team of brand ambassadors.

The 888poker brand ambassador team includes the likes of Chris Moorman who is considered to be a future Poker Hall of Famer (PHoF), 4 time WSOP bracelet winner Dominik Nitsche and Kara Scott who is considered one of the best hosts and reporters in the poker industry. It will be interesting to see what impact the addition of Martin Jacobson to Team 888poker has in 2018.
