Daniel Negreanu To Compete in 88 WSOP Bracelet Events

In recent years, Daniel Negreanu has been sharing his schedule for the annual World Series of Poker (WSOP) ahead of the start of the festival, and 2023 is no different.

The GGPoker ambassador, who has not won a gold bracelet since 2013, will continue his quest for the highly-coveted trophy this year by competing in 88 events.

Daniel Negreanu’s 2023 WSOP Schedule

It will be an extremely busy summer for Negreanu as he announced that he is ready to play 88 out of the 115 tournaments on the 2023 WSOP schedule. The list includes online gold bracelet events taking place on WSOP.com.

The Poker Hall of Famer will be at Horseshoe Las Vegas on the very first day of the series on May 30, participating in one of the opening events, the $25K High Roller Six-Handed No-Limit Hold’em which starts at 2:00 pm. From there, Negreanu will compete in the WSOP daily until July 18. With such a packed schedule, the 48-year-old will only be able to rest for two days – on June 17 and July 4.

Negreanu’s chosen events have buy-ins ranging from $300 to $250,000. They include many of the festival’s key tournaments, such as the $1,500 Millionaire Maker, the $250,000 Super High Roller, the $10,000 Main Event and the $50,000 Poker Players Championship which Negreanu said is his top favorite. His schedule covers multiple formats, including NLH, PLO, H.O.R.S.E., Razz, Stud, Short Deck, and Bounty.

Assuming he enters every event on the list, Negreanu will be spending $941,029 in total buy-ins at the 2023 WSOP. But the actual figure could be higher as many of the tournaments on his schedule have re-entry options.

Negreanu’s 2022 WSOP campaign was successful as he scooped $1.6 million in profits after cashing in 23 of the 107 events he played.

Bracelet Hunt Continues

Negreanu is among the top players in the WSOP record book, with 196 cashes and 54 final tables under his belt. He has won six bracelets so far in his career, ranking 9th on the all-time bracelet list alongside eight other players.

However, with all of those accomplishments, a seventh bracelet has remained elusive for Negreanu. He last became a WSOP champion in 2013 when he won two events – the €25,600 High Roller No Limit Hold’em at WSOP Europe and the A$10,000 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event at WSOP Asia-Pacific. Negreanu will attempt to end his 10-year bracelet drought this summer.
