2021 Venetian DeepStack Champion Series To Feature $15m In GTS

The Venetian DeepStack Championship Series which is one of the most popular summer series on the Las Vegas Strip, will run from May 3 to August 1, featuring $15 million in guarantees!

Organizers have decided to go forward with the festival this year even without the World Series of Poker (WSOP) crowd around.

The series traditionally runs alongside the WSOP live festival at The Rio each year, alongside other summer festivals in Vegas, including the Wynn Summer Classic, the schedule of which has yet to be announced.

The 2021 Venetian DeepStack Championship Series features a total of 121 tournaments, kicking off with the $500 buy-in, $20K GTD No-Limit Hold’em Survivor on May 3. The bigger events will begin to run on May 6, with the $400 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em MonsterStack first on the list, guaranteeing $150,000.

Players may choose among a wide range of Deepstack events running for three months, with entry fees starting at $200. Those on the lookout for non-NLH action may also take part in the $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship which comes with a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool.

The upcoming festival is also a great opportunity for poker dealers looking for work, as the Venetian currently have job openings for the role.

WPT and MSPT Tournaments

The festival will culminate in a $3 million-guaranteed World Poker Tour (WPT) tournament which gets underway on July 2. It has a buy-in of $5,000 and features three starting flights.

Then on July 11, another WPT event will take place, with an additional $2 million in guarantees on offer.

The mega resort will also play host to a $1,600 buy-in, $2M GTD Mid-States Poker Tour event which kicks off on June 10.

Summer Grind Is Back in Vegas

In 2020, major poker events in Las Vegas, including the WSOP, were cancelled due to COVID-19. Over the past few months though, the live poker scene in the city has begun to recover, with a number of casinos already running tournaments.

The WSOP is usually the main highlight of the summer poker extravaganza in Las Vegas, however this year, officials ultimately decided not to proceed with the traditional summer festival and instead scheduled a fall series.

In the absence of a summer WSOP, the spotlight will shift towards the other casinos holding their own series beginning May, including The Venetian. The casino resort, formerly owned by the late Sheldon Adelson, has been hosting live tournaments since December 2020.

The full schedule of the 2021 Venetian DeepStack Championship Series is available on the Venetian website.
