Top WSOP Bracelet Winners Since 1969

With a little more than a month to go before the World Series of Poker (WSOP) celebrates its 50th anniversary; the poker world is already filled with excitement as the best players compete for a record 89 bracelets up for grabs at the 2019 poker festival.

Considered the most prestigious poker festival in the world, the 2019 WSOP will take place from May 28 – July 16. The WSOP bracelet is one of the most sought after items and a dream for every poker player to win. Thousands of poker players from all over the world attend the WSOP each year and hope to walk away with a WSOP bracelet.

We take a look at the top bracelet winners in the history of the WSOP to date.

Phil Hellmuth

The “Poker Brat” tops the list in terms of bracelet wins, capturing a total of 15 WSOP gold bracelets.

Phil Hellmuth has been taking down WSOP events in the last four decades. His first WSOP victory took place in 1989 when he won the WSOP $10,000 Main Event for $755,000.

Last year, he won his 15th career bracelet after beating runner-up Steven Wolansky in Event #71: $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em. Hellmuth took home $485,082 for this victory.

Phil Ivey, Doyle Brunson, Johnny Chan

Closely following Hellmuth are Phil Ivey, Doyle Brunson and Johnny Chan with 10 bracelets each.

Hellmuth is still pretty much active on the live poker tour, winning events and still very keen on adding to his tally of WSOP bracelets.

The same cannot be said of Ivey and Chan who have not had a lot of success playing poker during the last few years. Poker Hall of Famer Dolye Brunson will no longer be in the running as he decided to retire at 85.

Erik Seidel

American poker pro Erik Seidel has 8 WSOP bracelets and is still hungry for more.

He is among the most successful tournament players in the world, with $34.7 million in live tournament earnings. Seidel is currently ranked third on the All-Time Money List. The 60-year old is still playing in major tournaments.

He recently took part in the live-streamed World Poker Tour (WPT) Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown held this month at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood.

Men Nguyen

Dubbed “The Master”, Men Nguyen has won 7 WSOP bracelets throughout his poker career.

The Vietnamese-American poker pro was last seen playing in January 2019 at the WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open in Atlantic City.

Daniel Negreanu, Chris Ferguson, Jeff Lisandro

Other players on the list are Canadian Daniel Negreanu, American poker pro Chris Ferguson and Australia’s Jeff Lisandro, each with 6 gold bracelets to their name.
