Niklas Astedt And Starwins :) Win Big at 2023 PokerStars WCOOP

Niklas “Lena900” Astedt has added another major online title to his name with a high roller win in the ongoing 2023 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) on PokerStars.

Denmark’s “starwins :)” has become the biggest winner so far at the series when he won another high roller event, outlasting 83 other players. That victory came with a huge $228,540 payout.

Astedt Captures Sixth WCOOP Title, “starwins :)” Secures Biggest Payout

Astedt topped a field of 81 entries to win the WCOOP 38-H: $5,200 NLHE Turbo Progressive Knockout Sunday Cooldown High Roller for a cool $113,569. The Swedish poker pro defeated Yuri “theNERDGuy” Dzivielevski heads up to secure the title. His Brazilian opponent settled for second place with $71,381 in total winnings.

Astedt is no stranger to dominating PokerStars COOP events. Throughout his career, he has claimed multiple titles in both the WCOOP and SCOOP. His latest victory represents his sixth WCOOP title. Combined with his six SCOOP crowns, the Swedish star currently has 12 COOP championships under his belt.

Winners of high roller events usually emerge as the biggest winners of any series, and that includes a player from Denmark, “starwins :)”, who managed to secure the biggest payout yet at the 2023 WCOOP with his victory in the WCOOP 35-H: $10,300 NLHE Progressive KO High Roller.

The Danish player won $88,931 in top prize plus a massive $139,609 in bounties to walk away with a total payout of $228,540. Austria’s Alexandros “Pwndidi” Theologis, who bubbled in the event won by Astedt, pulled off a better performance this time, finishing as runner-up for a total prize of $115,102.

Some of the other big winners to emerge at the festival include Renan “Internett93o” Bruschi ($5,200 World Championship of PKO, $198,664), Parker “tonkaaaa” Talbot ($10,300 NLHE Super Tuesday, $213,228), Sp1tter ($109 NLHE Sunday Million PKO, $107,788), mikke8282 ($1,050 NLHE PKO, $168,069), Roman “RomeOpro” Romanovsky ($10,300 NLHE High Roller, $203,121), Andre “PTFisherman23” Marques ($5,200 NLHE PKO, $179,133) and Espen “Hymn2Ninkasi” Jørstad ($3,150 NLHE PKO, $122,371).

There are dozens of events left on the schedule, including the three Main Events which feature a combined guarantee of $12.5 million. The 2023 WCOOP runs until October 4.
