2020 WSOP Online Series on GGPoker Poised To Give Away $140M

The 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online Series continues to register impressive numbers on GGPoker.

So far, more than $50 million in prize money has already been paid out, 26 bracelets were awarded and over 100,000 players have registered since the international leg of the massive festival began in mid-July.

So far, the numbers have been great, and if the current trend is maintained through to the end, the series could end up awarding almost $140 million!

A total of 26 bracelet events have already played out, including Event #57: GGMasters WSOP Edition.

The event’s low buy-in edition which took place last weekend with an entry fee of $150, attracted a record 9,835 entries to generate $1,357,230 in total prize pool, 35% higher than its initially advertised guarantee of $1 million. The $1,500 buy-in High Roller version was a huge success as well, after a massive 2,153 player field competed for $3 million in total prize money.

The festival’s third week on GGPoker also became witness to the third largest event of the series so far – the HK $7,600 + $400 (USD $1,000) buy-in No-Limit Hold’em Asia Championship, which was participated in by more than 3,000 players. The massive turnout meant the HK$8 million initial guarantee (USD $1 million) swelled to USD $3.2 million.

Apart from that, the $10,000 Heads-Up NLH Championship also took place at the end of the week, attracting a star-studded field, comprised of GPI Player of the Year Kristen Bicknell, top high-roller Stephen Chidwick, internet celebrity Dan Bilzerian, and GGPoker’s Team Pro Fedor Holz, Felipe Ramos, Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier and Daniel Negreanu.

Japanese poker pro Shoma Ishikawa, Australian player Hun Lee, South Korean Sung Joo “ArtePokerTV” Hyun, and Alek “astazz” Stasiak all walked away with a bracelet during the early stages of the series.

Week 4 Events

Among the events still waiting to take place this week are: Event #61: $300 buy-in Monster Stack NLH Asia on August 15, as well as Event #62: $1,500 PLO and Event #64: Super Turbo Bounty on August 16. The final day of the $500 Mini Main Event is also scheduled for August 16, featuring 15 starting flights and a massive $5 million guaranteed prize pool.

The festival culminates in the $5,000 buy-in WSOP Main Event, which comes with an astonishing $25 million guaranteed prize pool. million) swelled to $3.2 million. The 2020 WSOP Online Bracelet Series runs until September 6, 2020.
