partypoker MILLIONS Online Pays Over $2 Million Each To Top Two

The partypoker MILLIONS Online tournament created history after reaching a record-breaking $21,385,000 prize pool.

The highly-anticipated online poker event ran from Nov 5 to Dec 4 attracting a total of 4,367 participants. The online event had a $5,300 buy-in and partypoker had promised players a guaranteed prize pool of $20 million.

That guaranteed prize pool was smashed and it made things even more interested as the winners were guaranteed to walk away with more than a million in prize money.

The two online players who had a life changing event were Portugal’s Manuel “Sheparentao” Ruivo who took home $2,329,944 and Dutch Player Pim “ForMatherRussia” de Goede who earned $2,309,995 in a heads-up deal.

All 29 Finalists Take Home Prize Money

The action heated up in the final stages of the event as 29 online players battled it out to see who will finish on top. For a while, it looked like Mexico’s “wheatforsheep” would have a good run as he dominated the early stages of the final battle. All 29 players were guaranteed to finish in the money and take home a minimum of $65,000 on the final day.

The final day saw eight players battle it out and all of them were guaranteed to take a minimum 6 figure payout. Pedro “Maddonaa” Marques held the chip lead amongst the 8 players left at the final table. He was closely followed by Canada’s “COL_Moutarde”, “wheatforsheep” of Mexico, and de Goede. Not so long after, de Goede was leading the game with over 1 billion in chips.

Lithuania’s “originALUS” ended his bid early, finishing in eight place. Afterwards, “wheatforsheep” was eliminated via de Goede’s big-blind ace-ten. The same ace-ten forced “COL_Moutarde” out of the competition, settling in sixth place. De Goede was on fire until Ruivo interrupted his momentum with an ace-queen. With chips exceeding 1 billion, Ruivo was right behind De Goede as the battle continued. Malta’s “j2805667” ended his bid in fifth place after failing to hold against Ruivo’s queen-seven.

This left four players at the final table who were now all guaranteed to take a 7 figure payout. Ruivo’s chip lead was extended further following Marques’ exit in fourth place. He was followed by “Scarmak3r” from Slovenia who managed to turn his $5 investment into a massive $1,364,688 payout.

Heads-Up Deal Reached

Ruivo and De Goede were the only players at the final table when a heads-up deal was discussed. The first-prize winner was supposed to be awarded $2,729,376, while the runner-up would get $1,910,563, but De Goede went for a chip count deal and Ruivo quickly agreed.

Ruivo became the second partypoker MILLIONS Online winner, going home with a whopping $2,329,944. De Goede netted $2,309,995 for his runner-up finish.
