King’s Casino Emerges As Top Poker Tournament Destination In Europe

Over a span of just a few years, King’s Casino located in Rozvadov in Czech Republic has become one of the top poker destinations in Europe.

A busy venue, it has already hosted nearly 10 different poker festivals since bringing the WSOP Circuit event in November. Some of these prominent poker tournaments include the Italian Masters of Poker, German Masters of Poker and the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit tours.

The casino recently hosted the 888Live Festival and will thereafter host two more major poker tournaments in the Dutch Classics and the German Poker Days Festival.

After this, the first PokerStars Festival will commence while the WSOP Circuit will make a return in April and May. This busy schedule makes it clear that focus of the casino is mainly on the game of poker.

King’s Casino

King’s Casino CEO Leon Tsoukernik acquired the land where the casino is now built back in 1993 but was able to open a casino facility on it only 10 years later. Tsoukernik said that he was convinced of the land’s potential because of its unique location with easy access from Germany. In 2009 the casino became entirely dedicated to poker.

In a statement, Tsoukernik said

Not many casinos do this and I spotted the gap in the market. The big thing was I am a poker player myself and I wanted it to be the centre of the action. I didn’t rush things. I went one step after the other and this strategy paid off very well. Look at it now: We have a tournament every weekend and we have a full house every time!

With an exciting choc-a-bloc schedule already fixed for 2017, the casino is expecting to attract a wide number of players to its premises in the coming months. The casino revealed last year that it would undertaking expansions which will include the development of a hotel and additional gaming space. The hotel will have over 200 rooms with 18 of them being luxury rooms while the new casino space will have 40 more poker tables.

Tsoukernik said that the expansion plan aimed at bringing the biggest poker players and operators to King’s, adding that he hoped that the casino would play host to players from all over the world. According to Tsoukernik, catering to poker players remained the most important priority for the casino. He said that customers would continue to be treated as a king, pointing out that the casino would benefit only if there were repeat visits from them.
